Yield: 6-8 servings
| 1 | pkg. | (3 oz.) cherry gelatin | |

| 2/3 | cup | boiling water | |
|  | |||
| 4 | cups | fresh, pitted cherries, divided | |
|  | |||
| 1 | cup | sugar | |
|  | |||
| 1 | 9-inch pastry shell | ||

In a bowl, combine gelatin and boiling water until dissolved.  
In a saucepan, combine 2 cups cherries and sugar; mash cherries.  Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes.  Stir in gelatin mixture.  Remove from heat.  
Cut remaining cherries in half; place in crust.  Gradually pour hot mixture over top.  Chill for at least 4 hours before cutting.
